Stable and secure:
The new farmer® poultry nets
Press release horizont group gmbh - Animal Care
Korbach, May 2024. When summer thunderstorms bring wind and rain, the weather poses a particular challenge to the stability of poultry nets. horizont has now reinforced its farmer® poultry nets even further, so poultry keepers can rely on their fencing even on softened ground and in strong gusts of wind.
Additional post, shorter spacing
The farmer® poultry nets from horizont now feature an additional fibreglass post, reducing the spacing between the posts. This keeps the nets tauter and makes them less prone to sagging. The durable fibreglass posts feature a metal double spike that ensures stability even in difficult ground conditions. Two additional loose posts are also included for extra stability if required.
Robust and secure
Reinforced top and bottom strands provide added robustness. The high tear resistance and durability are achieved by 12 horizontal, current-carrying plastic strands with welded junctions. The poultry net has particularly close mesh spacing in the lower section to prevent small and young animals from escaping from the enclosed area. The supplied ground pegs keep the net firmly on the ground and prevent animals from crawling underneath it. In addition, each post has a top insulator that securely guides the top strand in all weather conditions, helping to maintain the necessary tension, reliable containment and a stable setup.
Available versions
The farmer® poultry net is available in heights of 110 cm and 120 cm and in lengths of 25 or 50 m. The 110 cm versions are available in both electrified and non-electrified variants, while the 120 cm versions are available only as electrified nets. Each of our nets is supplied with a repair kit. Electrified nets also include a warning sign indicating the electric fence.

Near ground level, the horizont farmer® poultry nets have closer mesh spacing to prevent animals from slipping through.
