Rods and catch hooks are used in livestock farming to catch or control cattle or other farm animals. They can be used to restrain animals during medical examinations or treatments or to secure them during transport.

The poles are usually long, rod-shaped devices made of metal or plastic with a loop or handle at the end. They can be used to guide or direct animals by touch, or to restrain them by placing the pole through the animal's legs or around its neck.

Catch hooks are also commonly used in livestock farming. They consist of a hook attached to the end of a long handle and are used to catch animals. The hook is placed around the neck of the animal to catch or control it.

It is important that both sticks and catch hooks are only used under veterinary supervision and that they are only used for short periods of time to avoid unnecessary stress or pain to the animals. The use of rods and catching hooks should also only be considered as a last resort when other, less restrictive methods are not sufficient.
