To let your sheep or goats graze safely on the pasture, you should invest in an electric fence specially adapted to the needs and characteristics of these animals. This is the only way to ensure optimal protection.
Sheep are well protected from external influences thanks to their thick, dense and insulating wool and are therefore less sensitive to electric shocks compared to other grazing animals such as cattle or horses. We therefore recommend that you buy a special sheep net in combination with a suitable grazing fence device to fence in your sheep, in order to best counteract the danger of the animals escaping.
A pasture fence for goats, which have similar insulating properties with their long coat, requires comparable requirements.
A mobile sheep fence, consisting of an electronic net and a matching electric fence unit, offers considerable advantages with regard to the safety of your flock of sheep or goats. When the sheep net is connected to an electric fence unit, the current-carrying strands are supplied with energy. As soon as a sheep touches the fence, the circuit closes and the animal receives a short electric shock and learns to accept the pasture fence as a barrier.
The upper and lower strands of all horizont sheep nets are additionally reinforced. They are also hard-wearing and made of particularly durable materials, so that your sheep fence stands securely and the safety of your animals is guaranteed.
Sheep and goat nets are available in different lengths and heights as well as in different quality levels.
The nets from horizont are made of durable and resistant materials. The stainless steel and copper conductors ensure long durability and high conductivity. To ensure full herding security for your sheep, they should be combined with a suitable pasture fencing device. This will prevent the flock from escaping and at the same time deter wild animals from entering the grazing area.
The length of the net depends on the size of the herd and the extent of the pasture. The smaller 25m net versions are sufficient in most cases for small to medium sized flocks of sheep. However, if you have a larger number of animals, it is possible to simply connect several nets together or you can go for a longer 50m electronic net.
Sheep nets are 90cm high as standard. This is the optimum height to protect a flock of sheep from escaping, as a sheep cannot usually jump over this net height. However, depending on the breed and individual flock behaviour, a higher sheep net may be the better choice. In our range you will find nets in heights of 105 cm and 120 cm in addition to the 90cm net variant.
The ground conditions are an important factor when it comes to choosing the right electronic net. A single tip, for example, is more suitable for use in stony soil. Double-tipped posts, however, are fundamentally more stable and should therefore be preferred for all other soil conditions.
