Young Farmers‘ Day 2018

Korbach, June 2018: On 30 May 2018, the first Young Farmers' Day 2018 took place as part of the Hessentag in Korbach. horizont, Weidemann and the Waldeck-Frankenberg District Farmers' Association invited young farmers on this day to provide information on the topic of social media in agriculture.

In various lectures and workshops, the participants gained an insight into the active social media work of the speakers. What needs to be considered when filming with the smartphone? How can you gain many subscribers in a short time? And how do you package your message correctly in the end? These and many other questions were answered during the day. In intensive discussions, the participants were able to exchange experiences and get useful tips for successful public relations in agriculture. Lutz Staacke, Head of Social Media at Deutscher Landwirtschaftsverlag, reported on his everyday life as a social media manager and Thomas Fabry showed how high-quality videos can also be created with a smartphone.

At horizont as well as at Weidemann, the participants of the Young Farmers' Day had the chance to look behind the scenes of the companies during a factory tour and to observe production at close quarters. In the evening, after an interesting lecture on the topic of "Wolf and Pasture Animal Farming" by Frank Faß, Wolfcenter Dörverden, a concluding barbecue was held. The management personally stood behind the barbecue and offered steaks and sausages to all participants. In the VIP area of the Black & Neon Party in the marquee of the Hessentag grounds, speakers and participants celebrated after the successful day.
