1945
Foundation of the firm “Dr Heinz Müller, Werkstatt für Eletrotechnik“ by Dr Heinz Müller in a small barn in Heskem near Marburg.
1950
The repository capacitor circuit was invented. Begin of the production of electric fence energisers used with low maintenance dry-cell batteries for the first time.
1952
Implementing of the new firm „horizont gerätewerk Dr Heinz Müller“ in Korbach and winning the DLG award for the development of the dry-cell battery energiser U30/l.
1956
With the development of the battery driven energiser “Ultra-Automatic S” with a high-pressure die casting case, one of the most successful products on the market is born.
1974
Dipl.-Ing. Robert Müller and his brother Dr Rudolf Müller took over the management board after the death of their father.
1982
The newly developed "Horimaster" electric fryer with a patented 4-fold efficiency is the worldwide sales success of the 80s.
1988
"horizont agrartechnik" was established as distribution company for electric fencing and agricultural technology products.
1992
"horizont ROLOS" was established in Poland as production facility for electric fencing accessories and as distribution company in Eastern Europe.
1993
A new high bay warehouse for more than 3.600 palette-storing positions was put into operation.
2006
The intelligent "horiSMART"-devices were brought successfully on the market with turbo after delay. These devices have the possibility to switch to higher energy after approximately 60 seconds if a disturbance in the fence is detected.
2007
The firms HOTLINE ELECTRIC FENCING Ltd. (Great Britain), CLAIR d.o. (Slovenia) und ADIC (France) were integrated into the horizont group.
2009
Dipl.-Kfm. Steffen Müller leads the “Division gerätewerk” as managing director in the 3rd generation.
2013
The intelligent “GPS/SMS”-devices were introduced to the market with integrated status messaging, radio control and alarm message per SMS if a change in location is detected.
2015
70 years of horizon! This was celebrated with a gigantic "open day", which attracted many visitors!
2016
horizont introduces a new company-wide logo. Subsidiaries in England concentrate their activities. At EuroTier horizont presents the new SMART-fencing device series. Renaming of the business units Klemmfix to Traffic Safety and Agrartechnik to Animal Care.
