The ranger® AN4800 electric fence can be connected to 230 V mains power and a 12 V rechargeable battery at the same time. In the event of a mains power failure, uninterrupted operation is guaranteed via the rechargeable battery. Optionally, the electric fence can also be operated with a solar panel.
The flexible 6-mode function allows you to set the pulse sequence for your fence as needed. In addition to the power saving circuit, the output energy level (APN = automatic power level) is set in steps up to 60% of the set maximum energy and is automatically adjusted when the load changes, e.g. due to vegetation on the fence. For greater safety of people and animals, the "Impulse Control" function switches the electric fence off or reduces the output energy in the event of an impulse being emitted too quickly (e.g. technical defect).
The fence insulation indicator "System Control" shows the insulation status of your pasture fence in 6 steps. If all 6 LEDs light up, the fence insulation is good and little energy is required. The lower the number of LEDs lit up, the more dissipation there is such as overgrowth or poor grounding and the higher the energy consumption. The weather-protected solar charging control system ensures trouble-free, efficient charging of various types of batteries.
The convenient on/off switch on the electric fence unit eliminates the need to turn off power by fence switch or unplugging. The 3-stage LED display "Energy Control" provides a quick check of the battery capacity and also shows you the activity of the electric fence unit by flashing in time with the pulse output.
An integrated power saving circuit automatically adjusts the power consumption to the condition of the fence. For you as an animal owner, this means less power consumption with well-insulated fences (little to no vegetation), less environmental impact and lower costs with 9 volt dry cell batteries, and less maintenance with longer 12 volt battery life.
The 6-step voltage display allows you to clearly and easily check the fence voltage. Our electric fence units are made of high-quality plastics and are UV-resistant, splash-proof, torsion-resistant, impact-resistant as well as oil-resistant. This guarantees you many years of durability of the electric fence device.
The electric fence unit is suitable for fence lengths (medium vegetation) up to 20 km.
We recommend to set up the electric fence with 2 grounding rods for optimal herding safety.

Repair service
Reliable, competent and fast contact
Good service plays a major role at horizont. In our in-house repair workshop, experts are available to assist you with words and deeds. In case of a defect or damage of your device (e.g. due to lightning strike or moisture ingress), horizont's technical service will be at your disposal at short notice.
Many of horizont's specialized trade partners can repair your device on site thanks to simple modular construction or your device will be repaired in the service center in Korbach and you will be helped with a loaner device during the short repair time (usually 48 hours).
During the subsequent safety inspection, all components of the device are tested and you receive a one-year warranty on the complete device.
