Optimised electronics for longer operating time
Thanks to optimised circuit board design, high-quality electronic components and software-controlled energy management, the ranger® AS180 now has +5% longer battery life.
The integrated deep discharge protection reliably protects the battery from damage, while the intelligent power-saving circuit automatically adjusts energy consumption to the fence load – efficiently, safely and sustainably.
Next-generation solar power
The ranger® AS180 is a fully-fledged solar energiser including a 30-watt solar module and 12 V / 34 Ah battery.
The solar panels offer four adjustable angles for optimal sun utilisation and a transport position for easy, safe transport.
The energiser automatically detects the solar source and switches to solar mode on its own to ensure maximum utilisation of solar energy.
Robust construction for maximum reliability
The efficient solar modules are installed in a sturdy plastic carrier plate and protected by a durable polycarbonate frame.
A U-shaped ground stake ensures secure grounding and stability – even in windy conditions and on uneven terrain. For large pastures or very dry soil, we recommend additional T-shaped ground stakes.
ECO Power mode & convenient monitoring
The innovative ECO Power mode dynamically regulates power consumption and reduces energy use, costs and environmental impact.
The 3-stage battery indicator provides you with information about the charge status at all times. If necessary, the battery can be conveniently recharged using the supplied 230 V plug-in power supply.

- This warning stands for possible harmful situations caused by electrical voltage, which can lead to serious injury or death if not observed!
- Fire hazard warning
- Warning - there is a risk of smouldering fire if heat builds up. The appliance must not be covered by materials etc. during operation, as this can lead to heat build-up and possibly to fire. Therefore, do not install in areas at risk of fire (e.g. hay and straw stores)
- Warning! Repairs may only be carried out by qualified persons. Only the replacement parts specified by the manufacturer may be used. We reserve the right to make technical changes!
- Please do not cover the electric fence with a plastic bag. Fire hazard due to overheating

Repair service
Reliable, competent and fast contact
Good service plays a major role at horizont. In our in-house repair workshop, experts are available to assist you with words and deeds. In case of a defect or damage of your device (e.g. due to lightning strike or moisture ingress), horizont's technical service will be at your disposal at short notice.
Many of horizont's specialized trade partners can repair your device on site thanks to simple modular construction or your device will be repaired in the service center in Korbach and you will be helped with a loaner device during the short repair time (usually 48 hours).
During the subsequent safety inspection, all components of the device are tested and you receive a one-year warranty on the complete device.

Legal notice regarding the battery law
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You can either return used batteries that we carry or have carried in our range as new batteries to us at your own expense or return them free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can hand in the batteries at your local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
For batteries containing a certain amount of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following additions below the symbol with the crossed-out wheelie bin indicate the respective pollutants:
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by weight
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by weight
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by weight
Information on the costs involved in accordance with Article 56 (4) of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the ‘Batterie-Zurück’ initiative.
